Candle Care
The Art of a Beautiful Burn
Your candle is designed to bring warmth, fragrance, and a moment of serenity into your space. Proper candle care helps you enjoy your fragrance experience while supporting safe and consistent burning.
Follow these guidelines every time you light your candle.
✦ BEFORE EACH BURN
Trim Your Wick
- Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before each use.
- Remove wick trimmings and any debris from the wax surface.
- A properly trimmed wick helps reduce excessive flame height, soot, and uneven burning.
Prepare Your Space
- Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep it away from curtains, bedding, paper, and other flammable materials.
- Avoid drafts, fans, open windows, and air vents.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
✦ DURING YOUR BURN
Allow the Wax to Melt Evenly
- During the first burn, allow the wax to melt across the surface as appropriate for your candle’s size and manufacturer-tested instructions.
- Avoid consistently burning for short periods that leave an unmelted ring around the container.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time, unless your tested product instructions specify a shorter limit.
- Never move a candle while the wax is liquid.
A Note on Your Wood Wick
If your candle features a wood wick, a gentle crackling sound may be part of the intended experience. Keep the wick trimmed according to your candle’s specific care instructions.
✦ EXTINGUISHING YOUR CANDLE
- Use a candle snuffer when possible.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause hot wax to splatter and may damage or break a hot glass container.
- Ensure the flame is completely extinguished and the wick is no longer glowing.
- Allow the candle to cool completely before touching or moving it.
✦ WHEN TO RETIRE YOUR CANDLE
Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
Do not burn a container candle all the way to the bottom. Following this guidance helps reduce the risk associated with overheating the container.
✦ STORAGE & CARE
When not in use:
- Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep the lid on when available to help protect the candle from dust and debris.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before handling.
